Naturally, we all think the Chippewa Valley is the best (that’s the whole point of the poll, gang!), but sometimes you just need to get out of town. For the ninth consecutive year, readers have declared that Duluth is the Best Day Trip Destination, but with its profusion of attractions — from the famed lift bridge to mansions to museums — you might want to spend more than a day. A bit closer to the Valley is the No. 2 spot, Stillwater, beloved for its picturesque downtown and river views. Your best day trip value, however, may be buying a stick that will get you into every one of the 50 Wisconsin State Parks. —Tom Giffey
