The Mexican food scene in the Chippewa Valley has exploded in recent years. Where we once had limited options, we now have a much broader range of taquerias ranging from authentic to American west-mex. Coming in first is the new kid on the block, Encanto Cantina (2839 Mall Dr, Eau Claire), who surged to first place with its beloved seafood as its main attraction. In second, Cancun Mexican Grill, with its four locations, has been serving up south of the border fare in a family friendly environment for years. Coming in third is Casa Margarita with its two locations and beloved Tex-Mex tastes. —James Johonnott
