If I’m counting right, there just might be as many music festivals in the Chippewa Valley now as there are artisan ice cream shops. Volume One readers voted Blue Ox Music Festival as the Best Music Festival of the past year, with Band Of Horses and Sierra Ferrell leading their lineup. Coming in second place is Rock Fest, a hard rock and metal festival in Cadott that has hosted bands such as Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, and Disturbed over its decades-long run. Coming in third is the festival that shares the same grounds as Rock Fest, Hoofbeat (formerly Country Fest). If you can’t find a music festival this year that suits your tastes, I think the problem might just be with you. —Parker Reed
