WHILE IT’S PRETTY DANG EASY TO WALK OR BIKE to everything you need, sometimes you want to get out of downtown and explore the rest of the city – or at least move a little quicker in the dead of winter.
Eau Claire offers real-time bus tracking whizbangery
Lucky you! Eau Clare Transit offers real-time online bus tracking. With the amazing power of GPS, you can track our fine city’s buses via computer or smartphone. This means you can whip out your phone and pull up a map of the city’s bus routes to see each bus moving along the streets of Eau Claire like you’re James Freaking Bond. The map not only displays routes and real-time bus movement, it also shows you where the bus stops are, and it can even estimate your wait time. LIKE MAGIC. In the Apple App Store or Google Play, find the DoubleMap Bus Tracker app. For web browser tracking, go here: ectbustracker.doublemap.com/map

Pedicabs are bicycle-drawn carriages, very much like rickshaws. In the warmer months, they cover Water Street, Barstow Street and everywhere in between. Look out for them late at night as well around Water Street. Drivers work for tips, so be generous – especially when it’s hot out.
Most Eau Claire Transit buses have free wi-fi, so get some work (or Facebook) in as you ride.
