Adventures in Geocaching

You will learn the basics about global positioning systems and the Earth's longitude and latitude grid. Geocaching is a world-wide scavenger hunt that takes players into all sorts of interesting places. You will be able to test your new skills searching for geocaches at a local area park. Each 90-minute class features hands-on experiences, as students explore museum exhibits to learn about local culture and heritage in a series of exciting history adventures. Sounds like Summer Concert Series: Michael Perry & the Long Beds + Paul Tweed Band + Brett Newski

Local author Michael Perry is known for his way with words, but every now and again he turns his folksy vignettes into country ballads and foot-stomping strummers. With the help of one of the best backing bands around, The Long Beds, Perry delivers an authentic folk-country show, singing songs filled with characters worthy of their own novels. For the Paul Tweed Band, music has always been the hobby, the escape, something to do to get out of the work a day world. Blues, country, and rock all have their place within this special blend of original Americana music. Former local Brett Newski has spent the last few years nomadically touring the world, bringing his one-of-a-kind solo show to places like Vietnam, South Africa, and Australia.
