If you ask anybody who knows anything about a good brunch, they’ll point you to The Nucleus Café (405 Water St., Eau Claire) a mainstay whose seats quickly fill up on the weekends, offering fruity crêpes, breakfast burritos, orange-zested French toast, mimosas, and a healthy number of vegan options. Newer to the scene is The Good Wives (2161 Eastridge Center, Eau Claire), with super seasonal, locally sourced offerings. Don’t miss the signature Good Wives Hash or delectable dishes like the Smoked Trout Scramble. A tried-and-true place to munch at brunch is The Informalist (205 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire), with an emphasis on scratch-made and locally sourced chomps, plus can’t-miss mimosa flights with three different kinds of juices: cranberry, orange, and grapefruit. —Rebecca Mennecke
