Eau Claire Cheese & Deli (1636 Harding Ave., Eau Claire) has some of the best sammies, including the regionally inspired Badger’s Best, Spicy Eau Claire, and Brackett Avenue Beef. A great go-to: the kids’ PB&J or grilled cheese. Hawaii Poke Bowl (949 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire) may be native to Minnesota, but its E.C. location has taken off since it opened in 2022. Notable mentions: their Rainbow Bowl (with colorful fresh veg), Volcano Bowl (with a feisty jalapeño sauce), and Dragon Bowl (with eel!). Mom-and-pop shop Mancino’s Grinders & Pizza (2295 Brackett Ave., Eau Claire) has some of the meanest grinders around, plus pizza and pasta.
