A lot of people use the word “talent,” but we prefer “skill.” Everything on the list of things we’re good are endeavors we’ve been practicing for years. Take farmers’ markets, for example. While markets like those seen at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire or Allen Park in Chippewa Falls have only been around for a handful of years, valley residents have been farming for, like, ever. And beer? Hello! With traditions like Leinenkugel’s and Walter’s to pave the way for a whole crop of new breweries, no wonder the area is known for its beer production. And the recognition of our art and musical prowess was earned through years of work at our local schools and universities. –Eric Rasmussen
