Best Jazz Band
The UW-Eau Claire Jazz I ensemble is notorious for its tight sound and many national accolades, including eight prestigious DownBeat awards — no wonder voters have chosen them as Best Jazz Band for nine straight years. In second place, the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra strives to create community through entertaining and educational experiences. Local jazz artists Cathy Reitz and 7 Swing celebrate “feel-good music” from the Big Band and Swing eras, grabbing the third spot on the rankings. — Katy Hackworthy
