Almost a third of Americans are lonely, according to a poll from the American Psychiatric Association. After years of an isolating pandemic, some people are itching for social contact. One place to start are all the events at Phoenix Park, such as Volume One’s Sounds Like Summer concert series, Food Truck Fridays, fireworks at the Fourth of July, occasional outdoor yoga, and more. Many find connection through church, and there are dozens of options in the region. Finally, young folks should check out Young Professionals of the Chippewa Valley, a group organized by the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce dedicated to networking and professional development. –Rebecca Mennecke
