Creating a positive impact in our community
V1 Staff |
Now ranked the best credit union in the Chippewa Valley with over 250,000 members and 23 branch locations, Royal Credit Union has deep roots in our local community that have blossomed since its humble beginnings in 1964.
Founded by employees of the Uniroyal Tire Company, Royal Credit Union had just 100 members in its first year, but has grown by leaps and bounds since then. In the 58 years after its founding, Royal has demonstrated ongoing dedication to making a difference in the Chippewa Valley by offering financial education, providing outstanding service to members, and taking an active role in supporting our community.
In 1993, Royal launched its first School $ense in-school credit union to help provide hands-on financial education in local elementary schools, and the program now has dozens of student-run school sites. In 1995, Royal held the first Charity Classic race to benefit local charity organizations, and the annual event now known as Rock the Riverfront is expected to raise over $27,000 for veteran-focused organizations this year. Royal has also awarded over $7 million in charitable grants through its nonprofit RCU Foundation.
Today, Royal Credit Union continues its legacy of growth with the same personal approach, striving to make a positive impact in the lives of its members and the wider community.
