For the second consecutive year, Passion Board Shop owner Chris Johnson’s colorful creatures crept into first place, with “5th Row Phil and Phil Jr.” inspiring gym bros and ghouls to stretch their monster muscles at 5th Row Lifting Company (2111 Third St., Eau Claire). Now Eau Claire’s largest mural, “Koi Joi,” by Jaden “JayFlo” Flores (with help from Alura Schroeder), splashes across 3,000 feet of The Howard Apartments (2580 Stein Blvd., Eau Claire). More than 20 local artists created “Overcoming Adversity,” a community-minded mural on Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley a.k.a. the Beacon House (309 E. Lake St., Eau Claire). —Rebecca Mennecke
