Best All-Ages Hangout

The Chippewa Valley boasts many hangout spots for those 21+, but this category is all about people ranging from tiny tots to senior citizens. Coming in first place for Best All-Ages Hangout is the fun and whimsical Reboot Social. Patrons can grab a beverage and a bite to eat while also enjoying a variety of old-school arcade games, duckpin bowling, pinball, skeeball, and more. You’ll want to go for a long stroll at location No. 2, Irvine Park Zoo and Nature Area. The park is known for its zoo critters — bison, lemurs, tigers, bears, and birds galore — as well as a petting zoo during the summer. However, the park offers so much more to its visitors via various walking trails throughout its 300+ acres, pavilions for cookouts, a playground for the kiddos, an educational flower garden, and the Irvine Park Christmas lights show every holiday season. In third place is the ever-popular Phoenix Park. Here the Eau Claire Downtown Farmers Market is held throughout summer as well as Volume One’s Sounds Like Summer series, and many other fun family events. Community members enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the park ranging from walking and biking to fishing, tubing, and sunbathing in the summer sun. —Measha Vieth
