On August 4, 2012, downtown Eau Claire's Wilson Park was overtaken by the fifth annual installment of Volume One's Chalkfest. This year saw a record number of participants with well over 100 Chippewa Valley artists competing in various individual and group categories. But the real winners were the thousands of people who flooded into the park to see the chalky creations come alive, witnessing the talent of people who spent hours hunched over a square of concrete, rubbing their fingers raw to make beautiful pictures. Big thanks to the artists, the sponsors, and the side game contestants. A fantastic time was had by all.
