Those who like to travel on two, un-motorized wheels may be tired of bicycles taking a back seat to automobiles in the world of transportation. Well, the cyclist’s equivalent to a gas station has arrived to Minneapolis … in the form of a vending machine.

Entrepreneurs Alex Anderson and Chad Debaker developed Bike Fixation, a service kiosk (which just happens to resemble a Coke machine) that provides bikers with basic parts, tools, free air, and services to make just about any repair on the road. Bikers looking to replenish their vigor along the way can also purchase snacks and drinks from the vending machine.

Located right off of the Midtown Greenway, a 5.5-mile long stretch in Minneapolis reserved for cyclists and pedestrians, Bike Fixation is really one-of-a-kind. Perhaps the idea will catch on as we all seem to be going greener. Maybe someday, we’ll be seeing vending machines for bikes on every street corner, right along with the Super Americas and Kwik Trips.
