SUMMER CAMP AT EAUM: Kids Yoga Camp in Downtown E.C.
Eaum Yoga + Fitness is hosting a summer camp for children ages 4-9
Calling all young yogis! There is no shortage of kids camps throughout the Chippewa Valley and just beyond, from weeks spent at YMCA’s Camp Manitou to local theater drama camps, to educational camps at area universities and more. Now, there’s Eaum Kids Summer Camp.
Eaum Yoga + Fitness burst onto the downtown Eau Claire scene in a big way, opening on Sept. 9 to huge success. Among its amenities and features, perhaps the most unique for a fitness studio is its full-time staffed childcare space. Also in the studio, up to 10 kids – from toddlers to older littles – can hang out in a supervised setting while their parents and guardians work out.
As parents themselves, co-owners Malia Markquart and Taylor Weiss knew they wanted to offer childcare and cater to kids too with their new business. It’s not a big stretch, then – no pun intended – for the owners to offer a summertime experience for kids, blending yoga practice with storytelling, crafts, and more. Eaum Kids Summer Camp is offered in two groups: The Littles: Ages 4-6 and The “Eaum”ies: Ages 7-9.
The Littles camp will be July 9-11 from 1:30-4pm and as of June 3, there are 14 spots available. The “Eaum”ies camp is from July 23-25 from 1:30-4pm and as of June 3, there are 20 spots available. Participants will be introduced to different yoga poses and exercises tailored to their age group, as well as interactive activities like storytelling and singing, which will teach some breathing techniques. Group and individual activities will also be offered, and if the weather is right, the children will enjoy snacks and outdoor fun at the Haymarket Square just down the street.
