Every October, Eau Claire’s very own Ski Sprites Water Ski Show Team transforms a building in downtown Eau Claire at the corner of Dewey and Gray street into a haunted masterpiece, filled with spooks and scares for the community.
This year, a new “wicked” twist awaits, where patrons are transported into the not-so-wonderful land of Oz and the Wicked Witch of the West lives. According to those who have lived to tell the tale, she is “burned, furious, and more powerful than ever.”
The ski team’s “Wicked Oz” installation plunges guests into the “dark forest,” where spine-tingling re-imaginings of Dorothy Gale, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and even flying monkeys shriek — their screams echoing through the trees as visitors try to escape.
From Oct. 16 through Nov. 1, discover what frights are in store when the red ruby slippers are stolen. With the Wicked Witch of the West on the prowl, you just might never leave!
Tickets to “Wicked Oz,” presented by the Ski Sprites Water Ski Show Team (415 S Dewey St., Eau Claire) are $14/person at the door, $13/person with a nonperishable food donation, or $12/person at all Eau Claire and Altoona Kwik Trip locations.
