A new workout program in Eau Claire is advertising weight loss and muscle development in six weeks by taking on workouts that are only 20 minutes a day. QuickHIT Fitness Lab (2127 East Ridge Center, Eau Claire) is a one-on-one health program that employs high-intensity training on a workout machine that cost $3 million to develop. Nick Peters, who graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in kinesiology, has done academic research exploring injury rates in various workout styles, and says QuickHIT has the lowest of any of them. “There’s actually no one in the area doing this kind of training,” Peters said. The workout focuses on controlled movement, speed, and resistance. The machine calculates the ideal amount of resistance and weight for a given exercise, making sure that every part of a movement has the optimum resistance. “We can fatigue a muscle group in about six minutes, so we are able to achieve results much faster than anyone else out there.” Peters works with bodybuilders and with those aiming to improve mobility on exercise and implementing a complementary diet. “It’s not just a workout, it’s a full wellness program,” he said.
