Zombies, ghouls, and witches can reunite at the first annual Zombie Bash at the Masonic Temple in downtown Eau Claire on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 7pm to midnight. Event curator and temple caretaker Allen Mazuk promises an unusual and freaky time can be had by all. Attendees will enter the neoclassical Masonic Temple – which by some standards might be considered scary in a gothic sort of way – through the huge eight-foot-high front doors and descend a two-story staircase to the ballroom in the underworld. There, special zombie brews (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and Hannibal Lecter-approved fingers and brains, along with other ghoulish appetizers, will be served. A DJ will be on hand to spin the tunes so zombies who typically are flat in the ground “dead,” can dance for one night on All Hallows’ Eve. Costumed attire is preferred, and the best costumes will receive prizes yet to be determined – these are zombies after all, and they’re in a meditative state at the moment.  Tickets are $20 in advance and are available for sale at The Local Store, and they’ll cost $25 at the door. All zombies and those attending must be 21 years old to enter as alcohol will be served. ID cards will be checked at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Masonic Temple building improvements and renovations fund.
