‘Charlotte’ and ‘Henry’ have been the No. 1 boys and girls name in the state for multiple years

Following the full calendar year of 2022, the U.S. Social Security Administration released the top 100 most popular baby names per state. In Wisconsin, the No. 1 boys name, Henry, was given to newborns more than 300 times last year, while the No. 1 girls name, Charlotte, was used nearly 250 times.

Overall in the United States, the top boys name was Liam while the most popular girls name was Olivia, differing only slightly from the top names in Wisconsin.

  7. Jack
  8. Levi
  9. William
  10. Leo

Top 10 girl names:

  1. Charlotte
  2. Olivia
  3. Evelyn

  7. Sophia
  8. Eleanor
  9. Harper
  10. Hazel

While we’ll have to wait until 2024 to learn what the top baby names of 2023 area (because, well, the year is still in progress!), it’s unlikely it’ll change too much. However, across the nation, the names Dutton, Kayce, and Chosen jumped up by hundreds of spots in popularity between 2021 and 2022. Among girls names, Wrenlee, Neriah, and Arlet also soared in popularity between 2021 and 2022.
