ON THE MOVE: Literacy C.V. to Relocate, Meets Increased Demand
Literacy Chippewa Valley will be in a new office at start of school year
Literacy Chippewa Valley, a community-based literacy organization offering adults free services such as English language support, family literacy support, GED assistance, and more, will soon settle into a new location. Just ahead of the school year, the organization is moving to a new office in Eau Claire.
The new location won’t be too unfamiliar to those who have used the organization’s services regularly. In fact, it’s just a few blocks over from its longtime space on Farwell Street. The new Literacy Chippewa Valley office, in the West Riverside Building at 221 West Madison St., will begin operations on Monday, Sept. 2.
“We’ll now be closer (just down the hallway!) from our friends at Eau Claire Workforce Resource and the World Relief refugee resettlement agency. This move will allow us to better coordinate with these partners and provide more seamless services for our students,” a recent media release stated.
Literacy Chippewa Valley has seen increased demand in recent years, a trend that continued this summer and led to extended summer classes. Its fall classes will start on Monday, Sept. 9, with the daytime English Language Learning class running as usual from 9am-noon Monday-Thursday, with free onsite childcare. The evening class will be offered again, running 4:30-6pm Monday-Wednesday.
Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year, so if you can’t make it to the first class on Sept. 9, you can still secure a spot for later dates.
