A new therapy practice in Eau Claire offers a holistic approach to mental health care.

Mindful Connections, LLC was founded in 2021 by Cora Reuter Looker and Nichole Kaeppeler Kulow, two UW-Stout grads with experience working with incarcerated individuals and first responders.

“While one could say we are in the business of emotion and thought, we know these areas are only a piece of the overall picture of wellness,” the pair said. “We spend time with our patients addressing all areas of health and communicate regularly with other local wellness professionals to ensure we can help people to get well and stay well.”

Aside from specializing in trauma, Mindful Connections offers Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EDMR) therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

The pair believe that the current disease model is outdated. Rather than responding only to crises and disease, Cora and Nichole aim to provide individuals with the tools to have access to education, support and validation throughout their lifespan.
