ECAHMAA: Building Bridges for Hmong Youths

The ECAHMAA provides mentoring and tutoring services to Hmong youth during the school year. Building Bridges offers opportunities for students to participate in after-school activities that will increase their academic learning and teach healthy alternatives to alcohol use and underage drinking as well as healthy nutrition.

Fairfax Park is a 75-acre park located on the south side of Eau Claire, with accommodations including a baseball field, two Little League fields and walking trails. It can be accessed from either Golf Road or Fairfax Street. And, being the only park not connected to a body of water, it is equipped with an outdoor pool. The pool season begins June 2 and the cost is $3.25 per person.

Offers playgroups, home visits, Parent Cafes, a lending library, parenting education classes, and other programming to address a variety of needs that parents encounter. Parents and other care givers are invited to reach out for information, resources, referrals, or other support. They can provide hospital outreach to families of newborns. The majority of services are offered for free, with no referrals required.

Family Support Center empowers all individuals, families, and communities to live free from domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, and interpersonal violence through education, prevention, and intervention. All services provided are free and confidential. Volunteers are needed for the 24-hour crisis support line, childcare during events, answering phones, and various office tasks.

As a child-placing agency, Family Works Programs, Inc. provides treatment foster care to at-risk children throughout the state of Wisconsin. We license, train, and support foster parents to care for children in the foster family’s home. The job of foster parenting is made easier by our social work staff who visit the foster home frequently, develop treatment plans, and facilitate the child’s treatment team.

A free bible camp for ages 7-11 to enjoy a summer camp experience, staffed and funded by members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and held at Camp Kenwood. Camp activities include swimming, bible study, music, boating and tubing, outdoor games, and more.

Through our housing program, CVH4H partners with families in the Chippewa Valley to help them build a place they can call home. Habitat Homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers, and pay an affordable mortgage that works for them. Volunteers can help build homes, take photography, make meals, and do customer service time at the Re-Store recycled home improvement store.

Head Start is a free preschool program for income-eligible families with children ages 3-5. Head Start offers a creative learning environment with age-appropriate activities, healthy meals and snacks, health and nutrition education, and opportunities for parents to be involved. Historical Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts

The Mabel Tainter building includes a lavish 313-seat "crown jewel" Victorian theatre and a historic reading room. It is a premier example of a restored vintage American Theater. Take a self-guided tour to inspect the intricate hand-stenciling, hand-carved white pine archways, rich walnut, mahogany, and oak woodwork, gleaming brass fixtures, leaded glass windows, and a rare working Steere and turner tracker pipe organ with 1597 pipes.
