After a successful first-ever youth football camp was hosted by the Eau Claire Axemen at Valley Sports Academy in January, the new football team is keepin’ the good times going. While the first youth camp focused on football offense and defense skills for kids ages 8-13, the upcoming March event will be open to more ages and offer more variety.

Slated for Saturday, March 8, at the Valley Sports Academy, the Axemen Camp event will feature three separate sessions: the Youth Football Camp, Axemen Cheerleading Clinic, and Mini Jacks Camp.

Like the first youth camp, the Youth Football Camp session will feature an offensive skills session (10am-11:30am) and a defensive skills session (noon-1:30pm) and is open to kids ages 8-13 years old. Each session is priced at $30.

The Axemen Cheerleading Clinic, a new addition, will run from 11:30am-12:15pm and is open for ages 5-13. All participants will receive a free gift after learning fun choreography, cheer fundamentals, and tumbling skills. The session is $15.

The Mini Jacks Camp, also a new addition, will run from 9-9:45am and is open to kids ages 3-7. Designed for local youngsters, kids will focus on basic ball handling and simple plays, balance and movement skills, and participate in a mini scrimmage. The session is $15.
