Send Your Kids on a Trip Through Time
Future History Detectives can hone their craft this summer by taking part in one of two six-week classes for kids at the Chippewa Valley Museum. “Time Travelers,” a program for children ages 6 to 12, will be 10-11:30am Wednesdays starting June 26 and will focus on making the art of history, ranging from culinary to folk arts. Meanwhile, the “Museum Explorers” program for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 will be 10-11:30 am Thursdays beginning June 27 and will delve into Ojibwe traditions and farmyard fun with a live animal demonstration, among other activities. The classes are held at the museum in Carson Park or at the Schlegelmilch House, 517 S. Farwell St. The cost per class is $5 per child (a second child per class is just $3). Museum members receive three free classes for the summer (memberships start at $30).
