Get Your Garden On

Wondering what’s going on at the Forest Street Community Gardens? Head down to the river bank north of Phoenix Park and the Downtown Farmers Market for Community Days at the garden, which will be held from noon to 2pm the second and fourth Saturdays in June, July, and August. The community garden is the perfect place to be after you’ve picked up your local produce at the Farmers Market. Just head north along the river to see kale, onions, tomatoes, flowers, and more growing in the flood plain. You can learn about the history of the gardens on a tour or participate in current volunteer projects. Got kids? Bring them for kid-friendly garden activities. Got gardening questions? Talk with an Eau Claire master gardener or community garden member. Activities will vary each month. Mark your calendar for the community days June 8 and 22, July 13 and 27, and Aug. 10 and 24.
