CHEERS TO THAT. In our latest issue of Volume One magazine, we dive into the latest and greatest female leaders of the Chippewa Valley, the best spots to grab a drink with friends and family, among other stories you'll want to sip and savor.

I still remember the drink of choice that, undoubtedly, changed my life (and yes, I do have a flare for the dramatics). Although it was not here in the Chippewa Valley (I apologize in advance to all our dear, local readers) I will often reminisce on my time spent in New York City, where I first tasted the citrusy and bubbly concoction that is a French 75.

It was at the Brooklyn-based restaurant, Francie, I was reminded of the simple gestures service staff – servers, bartenders, hosts, and others – consistently offer their patrons. Ultimately, they craft a dining and sipping experience that a person (like myself) will never forget.

Though, those memories are not limited to the famous East Coast restaurant hubs. Here in the Chippewa Valley, a simple exchange and a story shared over a cocktail can deeply affect a person – whether they are a long-time “regular” or a brand-new visitor to the area.

What's even better, many of the Chippewa Valley's purveyors of libations and new crafted concoctions are led and operated by a powerhouse of female staff and entrepreneurs. It truly seems we can have it all here in the Midwest!

Our latest stories and community happenings in the latest issue offer you the perfect mix to truly have it all. Flip through the issue (or browse online) to discover Women In The Lead and The Craft of Cocktails. We can only hope it will inspire you to reminisce on the people and places where our community comes together and even discover your next watering hole.

I think we can all say “cheers,” to that!
