“People love Midwestern people,” Chippewa Falls native and online comedian Grace Reiter told Volume One in 2022.

We'll see if that sentiment rings true for viewers of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning, longtime comedy sketch show, “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), when Reiter enters the SNL spotlight for season 52.

Reiter will join the show’s current roster – announced on Sept. 16, she'll join fellow digital creator Saidah Belo-Osagie – as a new cast member starting Sept. 26.

Back in 2022, Reiter was headed out to Los Angeles, Calif., to shoot “Stapleview” — a sketch project the Los Angeles Times then described as a Gen Z spin on SNL.

Now, according to an SNL social media post, Reiter is set to step onto that iconic late-night stage herself.

Funnily enough, her work on “Stapleview” featured current SNL cast member Jane Wickline, recognized primarily for her musical comedy sketches on Weekend Update alongside viral bits like “Cousin Planet” from season 51.

More recently, Reiter gained major recognition when she was selected for Rolling Stone’s Most Influential Creators List 2026, alongside a spot on the 2026 Time100 Creators List.

Beyond her online work and viral TikTok fame, Reiter’s resumé includes writing and directing credits on upcoming Netflix mockumentary “Minimum Wage,” a role in Tim Robinson’s HBO project “The Chair Company” and – who could forget – viral web parody “The Hunger Games (but Better),” which has racked up 13 million views since being uploaded to Reiter's YouTube channel nine months ago.

Reiter first began sharing comedic videos with friends on Instagram and TikTok during her senior year at Chippewa Falls High School.

Season 52 of Saturday Night Live will premiere live on NBC at 11:30pm ET (10:30pm CST) on Sept. 26, with host Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks) and musical guest KATSEYE. Follow Grace Reiter online via social media (@racereiter1) to learn more.
