BEEFIN' UP. Jacobson's Market in Chippewa Falls moved to a larger facility and is hosting a grand opening in their new location on May 10.

Locals have begun the age-old Wisconsin spring tradition: uncovering their grills and preparing for grill season. Even though this spring has probably resulted in many coverings and re-coverings of household grills (thanks, Wisco weather), when it comes to busting out the flavorful foods and charcoal, folks can enjoy a one-stop shop for all things fresh and meaty in a new location.

Jacobson’s Market, a local butcher shop with two Chippewa Valley locations – one in Chippewa Falls and the other in Eau Claire – recently moved its Chippewa shop to a bigger building and now offers more varieties of fresh meat, which are produced, smoked, and packaged right on site.

Moving just down the street from its former location to 17168 County Highway J, Chippewa Falls, the new store stands right next to Jacobson’s Ace Hardware Store and Custer Cone’s new location. Owner Joel Jacobson said the move was out of necessity for more space, both for production and retail. After 11 weeks of construction, which turned the space from offices into a meat market, the new shop officially opened April 12.

The new store now allows for two things customers have been asking for over the years: more meat and fresh produce. Jacobson’s continues to produce fresh hot dogs, snack sticks, bologna, hamburgers, and brats – now with over 20 varieties including Philly Cheese, Taco, and more – in the back production area. They also offer strip steaks, ribeyes, beef tenderloins, pork, marinated chicken, shaved deli meat, and more, right next to their large selection of block, sliced, and dip cheeses.

The new produce section is the perfect place to grab ingredients for a fruit salad or some veggies to grill up, making it easy to create the perfect summer meal by visiting just one store. And you can top off the meal with their wide array of alcohol options, most notably their wine and bourbon selections.

From now until May 10, Jacobson’s is holding a raffle for folks to win select bottles of bourbon. You can enter the raffle by simply visiting the new store, where you can get an additional ticket for every $20 you spend. On May 10, Jacobson’s will celebrate by grilling up and giving away free brats, providing snack stick and bourbon samples, and offering meat pack savings. Raffle winners will be drawn at 7:30pm.

Jacobson said the move wouldn’t have been possible without the support from the community. “It’s been amazing here so far,” Jacobson said. “The customers are really liking it; We’ve brought in everything they’ve asked for. They’re all very supportive of us, here and in Eau Claire.”
