In case you didn’t know, Carson Park in Eau Claire is brimming with activity during the summer months. It is a 134-acre peninsula surrounded by Half Moon Lake and is home to the Chippewa Valley Museum, the Wisconsin Logging Museum, the Chippewa Valley Railroad, a baseball stadium, and a football stadium that hosts UW-Eau Claire Blugold games, a large playground, and walking trails with scenic views.
This summer, Carson Park Experience events will highlight the numerous attractions of Carson Park. The June event has passed, but there will be events in July and August to come.
The focus of the July 4 event will be the Chippewa Valley Museum, and there will be many activities available for families that day. There will also be a food truck during lunchtime and an Eau Claire Express baseball game at 5pm. The day will end with the fireworks display at 10pm, which will be launched from a higher location again this year so that it can be viewed from multiple spots in Eau Claire.
The Aug. 14 Carson Park Experience event will take place on the last day of the U.S. Open Chainsaw Carving Competition. From noon to 5pm during the July 4 and Aug. 14 events, the Wisconsin Logging Museum and the Chippewa Valley Museum will be open, and you can also take a train ride with the Chippewa Valley Railroad. There will be live music and even a beer garden on the Chippewa Valley Museum lawn, as well as tours of the new train tower that was unveiled at the June event. So head to Carson Park on July 4 and Aug. 14 to join the Carson Park Experience!
