Together Farms is not only growing crops for its animals to graze on, but it is also interested in helping you grow your relationships and connections to the people and places that nourish you. This summer the rural Mondovi farm will host Wine Nights that involve being outside, eating good food, and learning about wine. Beginning June 24, these events will be held on Wednesdays a few times a month through September. Plan to start arriving at 5pm; the first course will begin at 6pm. Tickets are limited and must be purchased online.
The farm, mostly known for its Burger Nights, saw an opportunity to collaborate with area chefs on other meals.
“We also wanted the ability to spotlight other cuts of meat we produce,” said Stephanie Schneider, who owns Together Farms with her family.
Together Farms’ staff provides all the setting, meal, and lessons. The weekly themes will be determined by a chef and what they like to cook, as well as by what meats are on hand. Schneider said these dinners will allow people to try new wines in new ways.
“The wine dinners are great because they expose people to wines they normally may not even think to try,” Schneider said. “People find out firsthand how different a wine can taste before they eat, compared to after eating the food it’s paired with.”

They provide brief descriptions of all the wines on their menus to help people decide. While they hope the dinners expand palettes, they know people might be a bit more limited on how much they can spend, so they offer a more affordable “last call” selection of wines.
Everything at Together Farms is outside in the fresh air. Unlike past years, there will be no long tables; instead, they have smaller table groupings. When it comes to consuming wine, you will use a wine glass that is only touched by you. The farm provides hand sanitizer, hand-washing stations, and no-touch options for everything.
Even with the distancing precautions, Schneider and her family strive to keep the experience engaging with a community feeling.
“It should feel more like you are going to a dinner party at your friend’s house and less like you’re going out to eat at a restaurant surrounded by strangers,” she said.
