Chippewa Valley Restaurant Week (Sept. 15 - 24)

For ten days in September (15th - 24th), dozens of local restaurants will take part in an exciting new culinary tradition that gives you access to special menus, offerings, great deals, and invites you to attend a handful of unique food-themed events that raise money for community causes.

Young Brothers Art Show

Joe Young creates art from what he sees around him; botanicals, landscapes and people. Primarily working in oil, he also uses watercolor and charcoal. He trained at Goddard College and The Vermont Studio School.

Jeff Nelson Watercolor Class

Beginner to advanced level artists are welcome to attend. This class covers techniques including washes, wet into wet, masking, hand cut stamps, rigger brushes, and gouache. By the end of the class each participant will be able to leave with a completed painting.

Yoga on a Budget

This class will focus on linking breath with movement. It is a moderately paced class that offers demonstrations and verbal cues. It is great for beginner practitioners as well as those looking to refresh their practice. The room will be heated using infrared heat panels to 90 degrees.

Wellness Days for Hmong Elders

Each 4-hours wellness days includes an exercise class, healthy lunch, health-related presentations, and unstructured social time. The goal is to enhance Hmong elders' quality of life by providing programming that reduces social isolation, increases physical and mental health literacy, and improve English proficiency.

Hugh Mandelert Retrospective - Art and Addiction

This exhibit is a retrospective of the artwork of Hugh Mandelert, which has been generously loaned to the Heyde Center from the private collections of community members. The theme of the exhibit “Art and Addiction” serves as a catalyst for a community exploration and a dialogue of chemical dependency issues in the region.

Menomonie Farmers Market

Since 2000, this market has seen a remarkable growth in participation and sales. Farmer participation has increased from an average of 3-4 vendors in past seasons to 20 vendors at the peak of the summer harvest. A typical market day this past season had 15-20 farmers selling everything from vegetables to fruit, eggs, meats and handmade crafts.

Waldemar Ager Association Open House

Ager Association members conduct tours in the house and provide background about Waldemar Ager. Owned by the Agers during the first half of the 20th century, the house is a meeting place for members and the general public and is now the repository of a fully catalogued library for research on Nordic languages, cultures, and history.
