The perfect place, wearing the perfect dress, and the promise of forever with the perfect person. The p-word is the bar for so many, be it their wedding day or other milestone moment, and for all the right reasons. These experiences should become closely-held memories that last a lifetime, but let’s be real: Chasing perfection is stressful, if not completely exhausting.

Life keeps rolling, though; the sun sets and rises reliably, whether you’re ready or not. Local Kim Munsch knows that well.

For Kim, what was a standard moment in a parent's life – albeit stressful at the time – was the impetus that changed the trajectory of her life. About 10 years ago, Kim was married with five littles, and sickness struck. Needing to spend time with her kids, she tried to pivot her in-person job to remote, but it just didn’t work.

“They wanted me back in the office but I had to take care of my kids,” she shared. “I was devastated.

“I couldn’t figure out why I was so affected until one day, it hit me,” she continued. “I was devastated because almost 90% of that job had been organizing events. I was planning corporate parties, scheduling flights and organizing all these different things, and I loved it. I realized I had found my real passion, and I didn’t get to keep doing it.”

At the end of one chapter, Kim would pivot to another path: entrepreneurship. The Kim Louise Xperience (then known as Kim Louise Events & Design) was born. Still, life has its way, and it wasn’t until October 2024 she was able to fully pour herself into her passion.

“Shortly after I decided to start my own business, I got divorced. I became a single mom and needed full-time work,” Kim shared. “At one point, I was working a full-time job and two part-time jobs to pay the bills, keep the roof over our heads, put food on the table, all the things.”

After years, Kim thought to herself, “ ‘this is my opportunity,’ ” she said. “So, I dove completely into the deep end with my business.”

People can come to me with a vision, or if they don't have one, that's completely okay too. ... They may not know the exact centerpiece or color palette they want, but they do know they want to hear laughter, good music in the background and be surrounded by their people. –Kim Munsch, The Kim Louise Xperience

The Women's Empowerment Gala – which the Kim Louise Xperience helped bring to life through visuals – is a celebration of women and doubles as a benefit event. The 2025 gala raised $5,000 for a cancer retreat hosted by Paradise Massage's Laura Ellingboe and doula Stephanie Miller.

"The Women's Empowerment Gala is all about women supporting women," the event's public socials page reads. The Kim Louise Xperience helped bring the glamorous, red carpet event – hosted in Osseo – to life.

Today, Kim is still a single mom (though her children are now older), and her fingerprints are all over the Chippewa Valley’s events scene. In the past year, she has coordinated a number of weddings, both for larger venues and by working directly with couples; executed her own “Xperience” holiday markets; produced backdrops and tablescapes for local venues, corporate events and celebrations of all kinds.

Still, there’s a magic to weddings, she said.

With The Kim Louise Xperience, there are no “packages” or pre-planned designs to choose from.

Maybe someone really loves crafting and wants to do those things for themselves, but gets overwhelmed by the other details or they're stuck on a certain thing. Sometimes you just need a lift, some help, and I can offer that too. –Kim Munsch, The Kim Louise Xperience

“I do everything custom because everybody’s wants and needs are different, and that’s part of that personal experience,” Kim explained. “People can come to me with a vision, or if they don’t have one, that’s completely okay too.

“I approach weddings – and all the events I do – thinking about all five senses. I want my client to feel truly immersed, not just impressed,” she said.

One of the first conversations she has with clients includes a quick exercise. She asks people to close their eyes and envision walking into their future event.  “I ask them what they feel,” Kim said. “What do they see? What do they hear? Often times, it’s surprisingly easy for people.

With outdoor events, too, Kim gets creative – down to the last centerpiece. This photo is a glimpse into an outdoors bridal shower.

“They may not know the exact centerpiece or color palette they want, but they do know they want to hear laughter, good music in the background and be surrounded by their people.”

Kim isn’t chasing the perfect fleeting moment. She is planning, down to the detail, a memory that reaches every guest – and sticks around for a lifetime.

“Weddings, specifically, are a rare time when you gather people together for an important moment. I want everyone to feel fully present. I want to create those environments that hold the emotion and that kind of connection,” she noted. “I don’t just want pretty. I want your moment to be unforgettable.”

With experience built on personal challenges overcome, and the recognition that we are all works in progress, Kim does her best to meet people where they are – this includes pricing. As clients gain an understanding that the Kim Louise Xperience requires resources and pieces that come with their own price-tags – fully tailored to their wants and needs – the range of opportunities unfolds.

From the full shebang or the special details that bring a space to life – stunning tablescapes, chic drapery and backdrops or thoughtful floral arrangements – Kim will jump in and bring your vision to life.

“Sometimes it's not about the financials,” Kim said. “Maybe someone really loves crafting and wants to do those things for themselves, but gets overwhelmed by the other details or they're stuck on a certain thing. Sometimes you just need a lift, some help, and I can offer that too.”
