This last weekend was a busy one for music lovers in the Valley, with two of the largest music festivals being held in Eau Claire – Country Fest and Blue Ox Music Festival. The latter is one of the most unique festivals in the Chippewa Valley, in terms of setting and lineup, held on June 22-24 at The Pines Music Park.
Of the roughly 40 acts part of this year's lineup, some of the performers included The Avett Brothers, the Sam Bush Band, Charley Crockett, Yasmin Williams, Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country, the Mama Said String Band, The Lowest Pair, and local favorites like Them Coulee Boys and Jerrika Mighelle.
Blue Ox offers other activities like a soothing Soul Sanctuary, instrument and songwriting workshops, late-night performances on the Backwoods Stage, art installations, food trucks, craft vendors, a nine-hole disc golf course on-site, and family-friendly entertainment for the kiddos.
