TRIBUTES & TICKETS. Area music festivals Country Jam and Summer Jam announced several veterans-focused initiatives and offerings ahead of the 2026 events, including free tickets for retired and active-duty veterans.

With this July marking the nation’s 250th, area music festivals Country Jam and Summer Jam are rolling out a number of celebratory features and tributes – including donations in support of local veterans and initiatives.

Both Country Jam (July 16-18) and Summer Jam (June 19-20) are offering retired and active-duty veterans one free ticket each, to the respective events. More information on how to secure those tickets will be shared soon, organizers said.

A portion of the rest of the festivals' tickets (excluding some free and promotional tickets) – $35/ticket – will also be donated to the Chippewa Valley Veterans Tribute at Altoona's River Prairie Park.

“This money goes straight into (the Chippewa Valley Veterans Tribute’s) match campaign to help build the brand-new Vietnam Veterans and Korean War Veterans Memorials,” a recent media release stated.

Additionally, Country Jam and Summer Jam will display the “Field of Flags” – hundreds of American flags; also on display at River Prairie Park – on the festival grounds. More flags for the Field of Flags can be purchased online, “with every cent going toward the Vietnam and Korean War Memorial fund.”

Organizers also announced fireworks and drone shows for both festivals. A traditional fireworks show will be hosted at Country Jam on Friday, July 17, with drone shows held on the Thursday before and Saturday afterward. Drone shows will be held on both nights of Summer Jam.

In addition to the free tickets offered to active-duty and retired veterans, Leinenkugel’s has stepped into the presenting sponsor slot of Summer Jam and will offer a “First Round's On Us” promotion for veterans.
