Create Your Own Oasis
for decades, Chippewa Valley-based Green Oasis has specialized in making the most of your outdoor space
Now that spring is fully here, are you eager to revitalize your outdoor space? Does your landscaping need professional attention? Do you want to transform your lawn from brown to green? For more than 45 years, Green Oasis has been meeting a broad range of outdoor needs for Chippewa Valley residents – including a full lawn-care department, irrigation services, pest control, landscaping, and beyond.
“We pride ourselves on being the company that can do that in the area,” says Nathan Bollinger of Lake Hallie-based Green Oasis. “If it’s outside and has to do with your lawn or landscape, we can handle it.” That includes all aspects of lawn care, such as mowing, fertilizing, irrigating, and controlling weeds, as well as custom landscaping for projects of all sizes. The business was founded in 1978, and four years later was purchased by Wayne and Julie Bollinger. Today their son, Nathan, is CEO, and Green Oasis remains focused on serving customers across west-central Wisconsin.
Countless locals have come to value their services: In Volume One’s most recent Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll, voters chose Green Oasis among the areas’s best providers of Lawn Care, Irrigation and Lawn Sprinklers, Landscaping, and Snow Removal, as well as one of the best Garden Centers.
GETTING STARTED
Preparing for landscaping work begins even before spring, explains Jason Stroschein, one of Green Oasis’ landscape designers. “Right after the Chippewa Valley Home & Garden show, people are anxious to get us out to their house and to get ideas and estimates put together,” he explains.
Mitch Kitzrow, another landscape designer, says Green Oasis is happy to set up on-site consultations with customers to get to know their wants, needs, and ideas. Designers brainstorm with clients, then gather measurements and photos. After returning to the office, Green Oasis designers use this information to create two- or three-dimensional designs and cost estimates.
Kitzrow says Green Oasis works with a range of clients, from those who have specific plans in mind to those who don’t know where to start and are hoping for professional advice. In addition to traditional plantings, gardens, retaining walls, and irrigation systems, Green Oasis can create all kinds of outdoor living spaces, from patios and decks to pergolas, water or fire features, and outdoor kitchens, all using durable, modular materials build to withstand the Wisconsin climate.
While most projects take a maximum of eight weeks for design, estimation, ordering materials, and installation, small projects may have faster timelines. During the busiest time of year, Bollinger says, Green Oasis employs more than 130 people and runs five to seven landscape crews, which means they are eager to take on jobs even in late summer and fall.
MANAGING YOUR PROJECT
In addition to talented designers, experienced crews, and helpful customer care staff, Green Oasis employs a project manager, Jackson Wolterstorff, to ensure jobs run as smoothly as a well-maintained mower.
“We take care of our customers upfront, and once a project is in progress, that’s where Jackson’s role comes into play,” Bollinger says. “Not only is a crew assigned to your project, but you have a dedicated project manager who is making sure your needs and wants are taking care of. If there are any concerns or any questions, those can be answered right away.”
Whether large or small, changes or adjustments can be made quickly. “The process that we do put our clients through has been proven, it works, and we have a lot of success with it,” Bollinger explains. “We make sure that everybody feels like they are important, and we have a dedicated team assigned to them.”
Rather than treat every job the same, like some companies might, Wolterstorff stresses that he maintains lines of communication with clients so that homeowners feel like part of the process. “Here at Green Oasis, we cater to whatever the customer wants,” he says. “They also have that connection that feels like they’re part of the job as well.”
