With summer just around the corner, the Eau Claire Garden Club invites the community to explore the natural beauty found in a selection of gardens throughout the city thanks to its upcoming garden show. On Saturday, July 22, the organization is hosting its Third Annual “Gardens in Bloom” Tour.

Explore concepts like vertical and raised bed gardening, composting, organic lawn care, native and invasive plants, and more.

“We wanted to bring this garden tour to Eau Claire to educate the community about modern gardening concepts and problems,” said Nancy Spak, former president of the Eau Claire Garden Club. “We also host a plant sale, as well as a garden arts-and-crafts sale.”

“Proceeds from the Gardens in Blooms Tour are used to support the Eau Claire Garden Club’s Community Grant Program,” added Lyn Krochmalski, vice president of the club.

The Community Grant program provides funding to a variety community garden projects, including school teaching gardens, native trees for Wold Park, the creation of neighborhood community rental gardens, and native plant gardens at Beaver Creek Reserve.

“Our organization is very community oriented,” Krochmalski said. “Over $2,000 is distributed to these various organizations for their gardening needs.”
