SANTAS ON A ROLL. Dec. 2 marks the second annual Eau Claire Santa Cycle Rampage community bike ride.

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down downtown Eau Claire! The Eau Claire Santa Cycle Rampage bike event will be back – and bigger – this year, slated for Dec. 2. Come dressed in your best holiday gear (especially Santa-themed gear) and once again enjoy this community holiday event!

This year’s ride will take place at 1pm Saturday, Dec. 2, starting at the Haymarket Plaza (an alternative weather date is set for Dec. 3, if the Wisconsin weather is as fickle as it was last year). About 100 people participated in last year’s ride.

There will be costume and bike awards given out at 1:05pm, with categories including Best Individual Costume, Best Duo Costume, Best Group Costume, and Best Bike Bling. Riders may then snap a photo in front of the City Christmas Tree, and then the group will take off at 1:15pm!

The route is approximately 6 miles long and is a casual, “slow roll” pace. Groups can hop in and out of the group at any time, but the whole ride should wrap up around 2pm. The event is free and no signup is required. Just show up in your holiday swag and ride!
