A local CBD retailer has transformed a successful online shop into a brick-and-mortar place to buy locally sourced hemp products.

Steve’s Hemp, located at 127 N. Barstow St., sells their own, third-party tested, locally made products with the help of Wisconsin farmers. The shop features CBD oils, gummies, and even flower, packed with all of the great benefits that CBD has to offer. Steve’s Hemp also has THC products up to the legal 0.3% limit.

Steve Hampton, owner of Steve’s Hemp, delved into the world of CBD while he was growing up, as he played sports which caused injuries and sleeping issues. After his dad gave him a bottle of CBD oil in the hopes it would help, Hampton was sold.

“All of the anxiety and issues I had with aches and pains was just lifted off of me,” Hampton said. “Then I could sleep better or fall asleep faster and I noticed after a few weeks I just felt like a better person.”

Hampton initially had no intention of turning his online business into a physical store. The move to Barstow Street was made simply to have a larger space to package and ship their products, but after many people expressed their wishes for Steve to have a storefront, Steve’s Hemp materialized on Barstow Street.

Hampton personally tests every product he sells, so he has a plethora of first-hand knowledge and experience when it comes to all things hemp and CBD. Even though hemp products aren’t regulated by the government, Steve’s Hemp products are certified by a regulated lab out of Florida.

In the future, Hampton hopes the business will be able to convert his business into a dispensary when cannabis products become legalized in Wisconsin. Until then, Steve’s Hemp plans to collaborate with other local businesses.

“Our main focus is having local products from Wisconsin,” Hampton said. “and to get our product in as many hands as possible and help as many people as possible.”
