ONE-STOP SHOP. West Rowe expanded in the new year to offer women's clothing and accessories, making the small business a near one-stop shop for seasonal decor and clothing.

After years as an online-only decor shop, West Rowe moved into its first brick-and-mortar location in 2022, nestling in a strip along South Hastings Way. Thoughtfully curated with home wares that felt timeless and modern, the small business quickly gained a loyal local following. Now, West Rowe is offering more to its customers: clothing and accessories.

While West Rowe’s decor could be described “modern farmhouse” – marked by contemporary designs and neutral colors, natural materials, and vintage-inspired touches – its expansion into offering women’s clothing feels casual-contemporary. As it turns out, the owner’s taste in home wares translated well into fashion, but it was a leap of faith.

“When we first opened, I was very comfortable with decor,” the owner said. “Then the space next to me opened up, and I knew I was never going to have this chance again: to expand without having to move or rebrand and everything that comes with that. So, I took the leap.”

Now, West Rowe’s 1416 S. Hastings Way storefront is double the size, home to women’s clothing ranging from XS-3X and accessories. Upon first glance, I thought I had clocked the boutique’s style and pricing, but I was pleasantly surprised by its range (and clearance options!).

“I wanted people to be able to come here, shop, and if they wanted to, buy three or four things without totally blowing their budget,” the owner explained. “I’ve lived in Eau Claire for 12 years and have struggled to find places to shop, and that were affordable.”

Transitioning into the fall season, West Rowe is host to a range of jeans, maxi skirts, flannel tops, sweaters, and more. Textures like corduroy and clothing in warm or muted tones are hung or folded throughout the clothing side of the shop, while its decor side is lush with just about anything you could want to autumn-ify your living space.

Similar to many small businesses in the Chippewa Valley, West Rowe’s owner spoke of the community the shop has garnered since its opening in 2022.

“For people to choose to come here and spend their money at my small business, I truly appreciate that,” the owner said. “I know you could go anywhere to buy things –  Home Goods, TJ Maxx, even Amazon – so I genuinely recognize that. We love our customers, and they’re why (my staff and I) love this place.”

Swing by the shop from Sept. 6-7 for its seasonal fall sale, where all of its autumnal goods will be available.
