Excitement has swept through the Chippewa Valley following the news that Chippewa Falls native Grace Reiter would step into the spotlight for Season 52 of NBC's Emmy Award-winning sketch comedy series, "Saturday Night Live" (SNL).

All that excitement led to locally-owned Micon Cinemas to partner with Reiter's family, with the Chippewa Falls movie theater hosting an SNL premiere watch party to mark the occasion on Sept. 26.

There, locals saw a special double feature of both the SNL premiere and a pre-show screening of Grace’s "The Hunger Games (but better)" viral feature.

During the SNL show, new cast members of season 52 – Reiter and Saidah Belo-Osagie – appeared alongside familiar players in a video sketch parodying "The Debut: Dream Academy," a reality contest searching for the music's next big girl group.

In the first five seconds of Reiter's SNL debut, she came out swinging – err, naked (blurred, of course) – and received some pretty comical screen time as Margle, a contestant who only wears flip flops because "I keep passing out when I try to tie my shoes."

Together with fellow castmates Veronika Slowikowska and Jane Wickline, the sketch culminates to a performance by the winning girl trio – featuring Margle – who performs a peculiar but hilarious single, "Newton's Cradle (Come and Get It)" with SNL musical guest KATSEYE (who also happen to be "Dream Academy" season one winners in real life).
