On Sunday, Nov. 9, Spirit Lutheran (1310 Main St., Eau Claire) welcomed Warren Petryk, former member of Wisconsin State Assembly for an afternoon of music and community with the Men of Spirit group.

The gathering acted as a kickoff celebration to the holiday season ahead and paid tribute to Chippewa Valley veterans in honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11. Petryk — joined by a surprise visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus — brought holiday cheer and timeless classics to Spirit Lutheran.

The packed room of visitors, churchgoers and singers enjoyed his piano renditions, which also included acknowledgments to the area organizers of The Salvation Army.

Proceeds from the concerts admission benefited The Salvation Army and attendees — collectively — raised over $3,000 for the organization.
