After last year's record-setting amount of participating teams – 144 of 'em – this year's U.S. National Kubb Championship once again welcomed hundreds of kubb players from the Midwest and beyond to kick it kubb style in the Chippewa Valley.
Hosted at the Eau Claire Soccer Park (3456 Craig Rd.) from July 11-13, the event marked the 18th year of the tournament – which helped make Eau Claire the Kubb Capital of the nation – and saw 144 teams participate once again (all 144 registration slots were filled in just 38 hours this year). Eau Clairians played alongside fellow Midwesterners and folks from California, New York, Texas, New Mexico, and even Belgium.
- 2025 National Champions: Wrecking Crew (Eau Claire, Wis. and Westero, Belgium)
- Second place: Chaska Blue Bell Ringers (Chaska, Bloomington, and St. Louis Park, Minn.)
- Third place: Bepop Kubbsteady and The Kid (Eau Claire, Wis.)
- Fourth place: Kubboom Jr. (Eau Claire, Wis.)
- 2025 Kid Kubb Champions: Spence Arne for President
- Second place: Wild Bucks
- Third place: Jinx! You Owe Me a Kubb
- Fourth place: Mini Kubbsicles
Oh, and yours truly had a few participating teams as well: The Block Party, Ope Let Me Kubb Right Past You, and Kubbin' It Like a Local. We didn't win diddly squat for medals but we totally would have made the podium for Most Fun Had. Just saying.
