The Menomonie Hipnic, organized by Faith Freedlund of One Love Revival, welcomed residents of the Chippewa Valley to an afternoon of music, memories, and a newfound sense of community.

Held from 2-8:30pm on Saturday, June 21 at Wilson Park in Menomonie (800 Wilson Ave., Suite 51), this event coincided with the summer solstice and World Music Day. Freedlund said the event — despite the heat wave over the weekend — brought attendees from all over the area, with the biggest hearts.

“We need to stick together,” Freedlund shared online. “Peace is the path to a harmonious planet, (so) let’s get back to the roots.”

The Hipnic welcomed local music acts, food vendors, and artisans alike — all centered around the passageways of love, joy, and creativity.

Zoe’s Crafts, Melk Reuse, and Rising Sun Rock Shop were a portion of the vendors in attendance Saturday afternoon. Juice by Tene and All Belgium Waffles — and other food trucks — brought the bites and beverages for folks to enjoy during the communal picnic.

To complete the celebration, The Color Blue Jay, Cap’n Seabeard, Irie Sol, and other musical acts invited everyone to dance throughout the park and near the pavilion.
