The annual geek celebration in the Chippewa Valley – UW-Eau Claire's GEEKcon – returned on Saturday, Dec. 7, with vendors galore, a costume competition, e-sports, panels and workshops, and more. Just about every kind of “geek” found their niche at this year’s GEEKcon, including cinephiles, cosplayers, LEGO lovers, and others, with this year’s theme delivering a high-octane experience: “Racing Towards Joy: Geeks in the Driver’s Seat.” 

GEEKcon organizers said this year’s turnout was “beyond our expectations,” which is really sayin’ something considering the 2023 convention welcomed 1,600+ people. Keep up with GEEKcon online.
