UWEC students gather for rally, vigil, aimed to amplify Asian voices

UW-Eau Claire students gathered this afternoon at Owen Park for a rally and vigil aimed at amplifying Asian voices and building solidarity against anti-Asian hate and racism in the Chippewa Valley. Throughout the streets, chants of “No more violence! No more silence!” “Hate is a virus!” and “Stop Asian hate!” could be heard, along with one that echoed similar anti-racist sentiments from early last summer: “No justice, no peace!”
