"Campfire Stories: A Night of Fact, Fiction, and Fire" is a new literary reading series held on the patio at The Oxbow Hotel in downtown Eau Claire – between the fire pits, beneath the autumn stars. It features area storytellers, yarn-spinners, talkers, poets, writers, and musicians sharing their tale. There's a different guest host each night.

These photos are from the first installment on Thursday, Sept. 21, featuring Kelly Wright, Eau Claire's former poet laureate Bruce Taylor, songwriter Greg Gilbertson, and guest host BJ Hollars of the Chippewa Valley Writers Guild.

Campfire Stories will also happen on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.
