A SWEET SUCCESS. Kids of all ages (and adults too) eagerly await the fall season for tricks – but mostly treats – right here in the Chippewa Valley. You are in luck, we've got a comprehensive list of Halloween-themed events online so you don't miss any trick-or-treat happenings this October.

It's that time of year, where temptation lurks around every corner: seasonal drinks are infused with enough nutmeg and cinnamon to spice an entire village. Most of all, I crave my mother’s homemade pumpkin muffins – but I’d be terrified to discover just how many heaps of butter and sugar give them that irresistible flavor I long for.

But when it comes to candy? Oh lordy, that’s what truly puts me in a trance. It’s true, children of the Chippewa Valley (plus a good number of my coworkers) and I eagerly await Halloween night, when pillowcases transform into bottomless sacks overflowing with delicious treats.

Yet, as the responsible grown-ups and local dental experts featured in our Taking Care of Teeth section (flip to page 46 in our latest print issue or read online for the full scoop) love to point out, we have to keep our cravings in check!

With any luck – alongside the local Halloween Hauntings and autumn features packed inside these pages – I’ll find plenty of other ways to savor the sweetness of fall in the Chippewa Valley.

But mom, if you are reading this, I’ll be requesting a batch of those heavenly pumpkin muffins (hopefully before our next issue hits the stands)!
