RELAXING YEAR ROUND: Swimrite Pools & Spas
whatever the season, Swimrite meets your needs with pools, spas, saunas, and much more
From traditional in-ground pools to relaxing swim spas, from wood-fired saunas to outdoor kitchens, Swimrite Pools & Spas has everything you need to create an enjoyable outdoor space all year round.
“When we talk about a pool, we don’t just talk about dropping a body of water in a backyard and saying ‘here you go,’ ” says Ty Schoettl, manager of Swimrite’s Eau Claire store. “We talk about the entire design of your backyard from A to Z, and our team walks you through the entire process.”
Swimrite, which has stores in both Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls and is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, offers expertise and personalized service for all its customers’ needs, including envisioning a pool or spa in their backyard, bringing that vision to life, and maintaining the investment for years to come.
It’s a winning combination – literally: Swimrite has been voted the No. 1 Place to Buy a Pool or Hot Tub for three years in a row in Volume One’s Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll.
“When we talk about a pool, we don’t just talk about dropping a body of water in a backyard and saying ‘here you go.’ ” We talk about the entire design of your backyard from A to Z, and our team walks you through the entire process.”
When it comes to in-ground pools, Swimrite does more than build customers a pool: They handle every step of the process, from obtaining permits to laying grass seed. “A lot of the time it’s really asking the customer what their vision is,” Schoettl says. “Do you have a vision for your backyard when it’s completed? Is it an in-ground, is it above-ground? There’s different options. Is there a budget number in mind when we’re talking about that vision?”
Once those factors are determined, Swimrite’s experts dive into the details.
“We do a design process for our customers where we sit them down, we walk them through all of the different projects that we’ve done, picking out the important pieces that they’ve seen through different projects, talking about how we can fit them into their backyard,” Schoettl says. This is followed by an on-site assessment.
Based on the customer’s timeline, the design process typically takes two to six weeks, he says. Once a shovel hits the ground, the average length of a pool installation project is 21 days.
Schoettl says in-ground pools are the most popular option for customers. These are typically “sport pools,” which allow room for water-based fun like volleyball and basketball as well as plenty of spots to sit and relax in the water.
Swimrite can also build above-ground pools, as well as the decking, landscaping, and safety features – such as automatic gates – that go along with them.
Swimrite also specializes in hot tubs and swim spas that can be enjoyed whatever the season. In case you’re wondering, hot tubs are generally built for two to eight people, and can have entertainment or therapeutic uses. A swim spa is typically larger – some “party spas” can accommodate eight to 12 – and are for entertainment, therapy, or exercise, with a steady current that allows swimming in place.
Swim spas are sometimes chosen by customers as an alternative to traditional pools, Schoettl says: They are less expensive to operate and maintain than a pool, but can be used year round. Ranging in size from 12 to 14½ feet, they offer water temperatures from 80 to 104 degrees, making a swim spa a cozy oasis of warmth even in a Wisconsin winter.
Another Swimrite specialty that’s grown rapidly in recent years is creating outdoor kitchen and patio spaces. Swimrite has this trend covered with options for outdoor cabinetry, furniture, sinks, refrigerators, and all manner of outdoor cooking options, from charcoal, gas, and pellet-fired grills to Big Green Eggs and pizza ovens.
Feel a need for steam? Swimrite has been in the sauna business for 35 years, making it uniquely qualified locally to meet the growing demand for saunas for their health and relaxation benefits. Swimrite carries both indoor and outdoor saunas. Most are heated by electricity, but some can be wood-fired or even infrared.
Whether you’re interested in an outdoor sauna that can accommodate 10 and offers space for changing and showering or a one-person indoor sauna that can fit in a bathroom or closet, Swimrite can help. Enjoying the heat of a sauna often goes hand-in-hand with a cold plunge, and now Swimrite offers ice tubs that can be cooled with ice or a chiller.
And that’s not the end of the recreation options Swimrite offers: They carry American-made Olhausen pool tables, as well as air hockey tables and shuffleboard tables that can range between 9 and 22 feet in length.
It’s just another way that Swimrite can help you, your family, and your friends find relaxation, recreation, and comfort right at home.
“We’ve got you covered no matter what the season,” Schoettl adds.
