Listen, any wedding favor is a good one: Free stuff, right? I’m into that. But if you’re going through the trouble of picking out, customizing, ordering or picking up items to offer guests, you might as well check out local spots that can offer some awesome options.
Succulents from Down to Earth Garden Center
6025 Arndt Lane, Eau Claire | Website
Not much could be more adorable or “awww” inducing than being given a mini succulent. It’s a plant, and it’s mini. You can pick up just about any kind of mini succulent, cactus, or other plant from Down to Earth Garden Center no matter what time of year it is (hello, an excuse to hang out in the green house during the winter)! You can even go crazy and put ribbon around each one or add custom name tags for individual guests – whatever picks your petal.
Honey from Kaiserson Bee Company
Website
Picture this: another miniature item gifted to you at a wedding, but this time, it’s a mini jar of honey. A locally-harvested, glorious, mini jar of honey. It would be sickeningly sweet if it wasn’t also just an adorable idea. Kaiserson sells a variety of honey products too like lip balms, beeswax candles, and a few different sizes of honey.
Treats from Eau Claire Cheese & Deli
1636 Harding Ave., Eau Claire | Website
If you know anything about anything in relation to the local foodie scene, you’ve already indulged in the sandwiches, soup, ice cream, and other goodies at Eau Claire Cheese & Deli. (Back in the day it was known as Nelson’s Cheese Factory). Of course, this may depend on how big your guest list is, or maybe these favors are just for the wedding party – you decide how practical it is to gift folks blocks of cheese and cuts of meat (in my opinion, it is always practical). You could order the Cheese Lovers bundle, the Taste of Wisconsin bundle, or swing by the shop and pick out goods from their array of chocolates, sweets, and other treats.
Loose Leaf Tea from Black Kettle Tea Shoppe
217 N Barstow St., Eau Claire | Website
The self-dubbed strange and unusual shop in downtown Eau Claire is the purveyor of a variety of unique and classic loose leaf tea blends, including A Hint of Mint, Flower Power, Resting Witch Face, and even one called Love Potion No. 9, which is pretty perfect as a wedding favor. You can get as creative as you want with the packaging of the tea too, whether that’s by putting it in tiny jars or bags, folding it into envelopes, etc.
Chocolates from Sweet Driver Truffles
1106 Mondovi Rd., Suite #109 (inside The 1106 building) | Website
If you haven’t already indulged in the magic-in-your-mouth artisan truffles and treats from Sweet Driver Café, you’re majorly missing out. Hand-crafted chocolates specifically from Sweet Driver are next level, with truffles like Créme Brûlée, Italian Liqueur, Sparkling Hibiscus, Tropical Heat, and more – the truffle possibilities are nearly endless.
